Copywriting

Storytelling should be sticky (think Netflix binge-watching, but with words). At the several touchpoints you can influence a consumer on their journey, in the end they should only think of you.

My words are bold, unique, creative, memorable and, most importantly, strategic. They will sound like your brand should. They will break rules (effective > proper), be sprinkled with references that resonate with your audience, and they will be conversational. (All info and no play makes Jack some dull copy.)

My Process

Here is an example of my process for writing website copy:

  • I get to know you and your company through an interview. We can do this in person, over the phone, via Zoom or through written questions I provide you.

  • I work out exactly what it is you need, and provide you with a detailed quote. Once you accept this quote, I spring into action. I become as enthusiastic about your project as you are.

  • I get to work and go into research mode (I don’t have a magnifying glass and pipe, but you get the visual). I use my carefully honed sleuthing skills, and analyse data. I dig into your industry, your competitors, as well as your current and prospective audiences. You can provide me with SEO Keywords, or I can deliver 5-10 as an extra service at this time.

  • I create a strategy for your brand. Whether it’s sticky stories, hot headlines or irresistible calls to action, I work out the best way to bring attention to what you’re selling.

  • I think. Writing without thinking is like baking without butter: pointless. I get into ideas mode – the best way to come up with a great idea, is to have lots of ideas.

  • I put pen to paper or, in this case, fingers to keyboard. I produce compelling, powerful, and yet concise, content that is bursting with character.

  • I present you my strategy-powered words, that are engineered to ensure wins, with high-converting copy that sounds exactly how your brand should.

  • You have the opportunity to provide feedback, and request a variety of changes (we go through this process twice) until you are perfectly satisfied with the finished product.

  • We publish and let the words get to work.

Price Guide

  • Each job is unique, and content needs can vastly differ. It can take 30 minutes to write the copy for a Contact page, and several hours to produce comprehensive FAQs.

  • Most webpage copy takes 2-3 hrs at $75/per hour. If, for example, you require 4 pages of copy, this will be around $900. 1-2 hours are also required for research and creating a meta data description for each page.

  • 5-10 SEO Keywords cost an additional $150, or you can provide your own.

  • After our initial meeting, I will provide you with a quote which details all the pages of your site, and how many hours I estimate each page will take. My final invoice will not differ from this quote, unless you ask to add extra content along the way, which will be charged at the rate of $75/hr.

  • An eDM will usually take 1-2 hrs, (Around $150) and a blog of around 750 words, depending on the subject matter, may take 3-4. (Around $300).

  • Discounts for ongoing service agreements can be arranged.

  • With each project, two sets of revisions are included free of charge.

I have worked with Margie where we both sat across writing spaces that included an online community, blog posts and social media content, all from a brand perspective. Toeing that line between the brand voice and the individual is something that Margie really excels at. Her writing is intelligent and quick witted and she has a natural ability to write easily about any topic. Margie’s writing is always clear, engaging and approachable, appealing to broad audiences.

She is a delight to work with, and I have no doubt that anyone looking to work with Margie on any project will be incredibly happy with the outcome.
